*Review Update: Received a $13.49 refund for the $14.99 cup from 42 shops after leaving the old review, with a promise that they will check future orders to make sure this would not happen again. Upped my rating from 1 star to 2 due to this. (To clarify, I received a cup with Xie Lian darkened out, and then when you put the hot water in, 2 Hua Chengs show up.1 is a silhouette behind XL, so i think he was stamped ontop of XL by accident)
Old Review: I saved up money to get this cup (as shipping to where I live is horrendous) only to receive a defective one. Apparently, I was told their warehouses don't do quality control before sending out these cups!
Unless you want to play gatcha to see if you get a good cup or a defective one, I recommend staying away from buying this cup or try to buy it elsewhere. If you do receive a defective one, at most 42shops will send you an apology and a super tiny discount on your next purchase.

As a reseller, our products are shipped in sealed packaging, and we inspect them through the transparent layer to ensure there are no visible exterior defects. Since the color-changing functionality can only be tested after opening and adding water, we are unable to perform a full quality check without breaking the seal.
Many of our customers purchase TGCF merchandise as permanent collectibles and value receiving items in sealed packaging as it represents the product’s brand-new condition. For this reason, we do not open the manufacturer’s sealed packaging to avoid creating the impression that the product has been used or tampered with.
